E-Commerce revenue surpasses US$ 5.3 trillion for the first time in 2026, driven by a year-on-year growth rate of 8.6%. The fastest growing regions are Africa, Asia and Australia and Oceania, but Europe outpaces the Americas in growth this year.
The retailers driving this growth are Amazon, Pinduoduo and TikTok, while Apple is the number one in D2C. Shopify captures a significant share of global e-commerce volume at 6.2% in 2025. Although global top 10 rankings remain largely stable, TikTok shows the strongest rise among retailers and manages to outpace more established retailers in the ranking together with Shopee and AliExpress.
